well, here i am. some people call me El Oso, Papa Bear, or even Uncle Bill. i'm a self proclaimed oldster surrounded by kids. young men and women who want to know and learn about the secret things that i am already in touch with and have an intimate knowledge of. i'm here to guide my young baroke brothers in the ways of music snobbery. yeah, i know it's all been done before and nothing is really underground anymore.
hopefully i will post some music, maybe some video, or just my own maudlin philosophical ramblings on the state of contemporary youth culture through the eyes of a 35 year old married man who refuses to grow up...

Holy Fuck - Lovely Allen
Holy Fuck are a band from Toronto but not very traditional in their philosophy and presentation. the band consists of one amazing drummer, one bass player and then two or three guys playing around with various analog synths, effects pedals, and even some film editing equipment used to create loops of sound on the fly to create live and improvised dance music. this was recorded live in the studio with no overdubs at all, as far as i know. i saw them open up for Wolf Parade last year and they rocked the fuck out. their bass player used to be in a Canadian indie rock band called King Cobb Steelie, but what do you care?! enjoy...
